Currently, the files that are associated with our courses are not protected nor accessible. The external drive (M drive) will allow all of our course files, in development and in production to be in an accessible and safe location that uses a consistent naming system. 


By having a systematic storage space for our files, these can be easily accessed by DLC staff members and will be backed location for protection. - up in a safe.


The goal is to clean up the M drive structure to keep files safe and the ability to run auto updates to back up files. This will also help define to the whole office where to find a course and building files that are needed by all team members.

Production

These are the files that are used to make up the finished course. These are typically PDF, small images, final video, and audio files. These are given to the student and are for external use.

Development

These are the files that are used to make up the creation of the course. These are typically word files, large file sizes, scans of written work. These are not given to the student and are for internal use.

Marketing

The marketing folder is used to house the image, print and video used to promote the course. This may be for the website, social media, trade shows and more. Typically the marketing and communications team will add to this folder.
