Readers read questions to the student. Here are some guidelines:

Scribes write down a student's spoken response to a question. Here are some guidelines:

  • Write down each response verbatim
  • Ask the student to clarify, expand, or give more details


Example Exam Question:

How did Cinderella arrange to go to the prince's ball? And how did she get there?


Examples of Prompts:

  • What did she do first?
  • How did that happen?
  • What happened next?
  • What happened to the shoe (IF the student mentioned the shoe)?
  • Adding additional words
  • Paraphrasing
  • Lead the student to answers
